Rachel Durrum Music

Rachel Durrum has been playing violin for 30+ years. She began her musical training in her hometown of Sarasota, FL. There, she worked with many esteemed teachers such as Ken Bowermeister, Dorothy Stahler, and Paul Wolfe through Pine View School and the Florida West Coast Youth Orchestra (now Sarasota Orchestra).

  She continued her musical training at Rollins College where she studied in the violin studios of Joni Roos and Alvaro Gomez. She also studied in the vocal studio of Dr. Edmund LeRoy. She served as concertmaster of the Rollins College String Ensemble and the Rollins Orchestra. She sang in the Vocal Jazz ensemble directed by Michelle Amato and in the Chamber Singers directed by  John Sinclair. She was one of the youngest violinists invited to perform as a section player in the Bach Festival Orchestra during her freshman year.

  Rachel continues to perform in various professional orchestras and music ensembles throughout the State of Florida including the Orlando Philharmonic, Venice Symphony, Space Coast Symphony, Bach Festival, and is a founding member & co-owner of Anthology String Quartet. She has experience playing in various band settings through playing in worship bands & cover bands while playing off lead sheets and improvising. She enjoys performing & particularly loves opportunities where she can connect with the audience whether it be a formal performance or a fun party!
